Actual Salary: From £16,239.00 (point 7) under 5 years’ service to £16,452.00 (point 7) over 5 years’ service, per annum (pro-rata) depending on experience and length of service

Thriftwood School & College is an outstanding, inclusive, and forward-thinking specialist academy for young people aged 5-19. The academy caters for pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs, including MLD, ASC, and additional complex needs. All have an EHCP. Thriftwood is based on two sites in Chelmsford and student numbers have grown steadily in recent years, with a total of 262 now on roll across the sites and 60 in the Middle School Phase. This rise is projected to continue, with the total number on roll expected to increase to over 300 in the next few years.

We now have a very exciting opportunity to appoint a Phase Leader of Middle School, who will be based at the School site, leading and overseeing the provision for pupils aged between 11-13yrs.  The School is set in beautiful, mature grounds in the heart of Galleywood, on the outskirts of Chelmsford, yet within easy reach of the A12. It enjoys its own wildlife, and Forest School areas, a number of play and develop- ment environments including a sand barn, sensory room and outside gym trail and offers specialist classrooms and facilities for cookery, art, PE and music therapy.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate recent, successful previous experience in SEND and have the necessary qualities and experience to move into a Phase Leadership role. You should be someone of the highest moral integrity, who is committed to high quality teaching and learning. Your positive attitude should inspire and engage the young people, parents/carers and staff team. Above all, you must share Thriftwood’s relentless focus on providing the very best for all of its young people with a vision for its continuing success and future development.

Thriftwood School & College are looking to appoint a Business Support Manager to work in conjunction with the SEAX Trust Business Team to ensure systems and procedures follow the requirements of the SEAX Trust.  The SEAX Trust Business Team will provide advice and monitoring support:

  • To ensure that management and operation of financial planning and procedures are highly effective, supporting the Leadership Team in making budgetary decisions and informing long-term planning.
  • To advise the Local Academy Committee and School Leadership Team on non-teaching matters as required so as to contribute to the successful and effective operation of the Academy and the Improvement Plan.
  • To report regularly on all finance to the Headteacher and SEAX Trust central staff.
