At Thriftwood College, Mrs Janine Cavey is our Pastoral and Family Engagement Manager and Mrs Frances Satterley is our Pastoral Support Manager.

They both work closely with parents, carers, and multi-professionals with an aim to meet the holistic needs of each learner and their families.

We have an open door approach to communication between parents/carers and college.

It is very important that we work in partnership with you to support your young person – good communication is essential.

• Class Tutors are available to take calls before the college day, at lunchtime or after college.
• You can make an appointment with Tutors, Subject Leads, the Pastoral Team or a member of the Senior Leadership Team if necessary.
• We hold parent consultations for you to meet the Class Tutor, plus a One Planning or an Education, Health and Care Plan meeting in the autumn term.
• Regular updates and information are emailed via Arbor or using the in-app message system in the Arbor parent portal. Letters are sometimes issued to learners to bring home.
• We ask you to please ensure that the information held for your young person and their emergency contacts are always kept up-to-date by checking the parent app in Arbor regularly.
• It is imperative that we are aware of current mobile phone numbers and email addresses.
